Corrosion Preventive Properties of Lubricating Greases
Corrosion Preventive Properties of Lubricating Greases TT-1743
Corrosion Preventive Properties of Lubricating Greases TT-1743 complies with the ASTM D1743 Standard Test Method for Determining Corrosion Preventive Properties of Lubricating Greases.
Corrosion Preventive Properties of Lubricating Greases TT-1743 is utilized for assessing the corrosion preventive properties of greases by subjecting grease-lubricated tapered roller bearings to storage under wet conditions. This test method is founded on CRC Technique L 412, which demonstrates correlations between laboratory test results and the performance of grease-lubricated aircraft wheel bearings in service.
Test introduction
New, cleaned, and lubricated bearings are subjected to a light thrust load for 60 ± 3 seconds to evenly distribute the lubricant in a manner resembling real-world service conditions. Following this, the bearings are exposed to water and then stored for 48 ± 0.5 hours at 52 ± 1°C (125 ± 2°F) and 100% relative humidity. Subsequently, the bearing cups are inspected for signs of corrosion.
The instrument comprises a motor, thrust loader, transmission gear, bearing bracket, and other components. It is characterized by a compact structure and easy operation.
