Apparatus for Particulate Contamination in Aviation Fuels
Apparatus for Particulate Contamination in Aviation Fuels TT-5452
Apparatus for Particulate Contamination in Aviation Fuels TT-5452 adheres to the ASTM D5452 Standard Test Method for Particulate Contamination in Aviation Fuels by Laboratory Filtration.
This method provides a gravimetric measurement of particulate matter present in aviation turbine fuel samples delivered to a laboratory for evaluation. The goal is to minimize these contaminants to prevent filter plugging and other operational issues. While acceptable levels of particulate contaminants are not yet defined for all points in fuel distribution systems, the total contaminant measurement is typically the primary concern.
1. Aluminum structure with anti-vibration feet, compliant with ASTM D5452.
2. 5-liter stainless steel sample tank with epoxy coating, conforming to ASTM D4306, featuring a dispensing screw cap with a hose barb (internal diameter approximately 9.5 mm and length 32 mm) and equipped with a 100 mm fuel-resistant flexible tube.
3. Metallic funnel with a 200 ml capacity, including a filter support and base for secure membrane sealing.
4. 5-liter graduated cylindrical vacuum bottles for sample collection.
5. Grounding system and vacuum connection tube included.
